Warren Tricomi Spa and Salon
The Plaza Hotel
NEW YORK
-by Priscilla Monteiro
Beautification and relaxation equals an ideal salon and spa well at least Warren Tricomi does. This luxuriously decorated 4,000-square-foot salon is beauty and grooming at its finest. Conveniently located inside of The Plaza Hotel in New York City , this flagship location sits in between Bergdorf Goodman, the Apple Store, Gucci, Bulgari and Central Park. Expect nothing short of state-of-the-art equipment, products and affordable services. The salon was originally started back in 1996 by the New York City-born duo, hairstylist Edward Tricomi and colorist Joel Warren.
Considering the location of the salon, one would expect a very snooty atmosphere with unattentive staff members which was NOT the case with my personal experience and coming from an individual who has traveled the world. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the lovely ladies at the reception desk, asked my preference of beverage and if I had a great day. My manicurist, Eva, was amazing, highly experienced, very professional and a great listener. She chose Essie's all new Damsel in a Dress nail polish and her technique was extraordinary. My manicure lasted 8 days which is, by far, longer than any manicure I have ever had. Eva stated that "its all in the products and experience". There are many things that we should all experience in life from vacation destinations to life lessons and then, of course, pampering and beautification to top it all off. Tricomi is more than a salon, it is a place where clients can go for guaranteed results, A-list service from highly experienced and fashionable professionals who are savvy to some of today’s latest hair and make-up trends. They offer an array of products and services whether it be bridal, eyebrows, make-up, manicure/pedicure, waxing, conditioners, Japanese and permanent relaxers, hair extensions, corrective coloring, hair cuts and blow drying. You must experience Warren Tricomi otherwise you have yet to experience the finer things in life. Le Cirque
New York City
Reviewed by Kemol Taylor
With thousands of menus in New York City, few places have the grandeur and History Of Le Cirque. Masterminded by Mr. Sirio Maccioni over more than three decades ago the new site at Bloomberg Tower in Midtown still keeps up with the luxury and privilege that we have all known and love. Star power also still has a say at Le Cirque with Regulars like Henry KissingerBill Cosby you will certainly have something to focus on besides the beautiful and elegant décor.
The food at Le Cirque is to die for with its haute French and Italian cooking, which I must say does not go down too bad either. Here are some of my favorites from my experience in no particular order:

David Burke & Donatella
NEW YORK
-by Kemol Taylor
The latest culinary fusion is taking place between two personalities: Award-winning Executive Chef David Burke, whose reputation for wildly creative takes on American ingredients is unsurpassed, has teamed up with savvy young restaurateur Donatella Arpaia. The result is David Burke and Donatella, serving provocative Modern American Cuisine in an elegantly refurbished Upper East Side space. The restaurant's design is inspired by the bold colors and lacquered surfaces on the 1930's, yet it has decidedly contemporary aesthetic. Upon entering David Burke & Donatella, guests will feel the glamour and sense of fun in the lounge with its sleek white gloss, stone bar and whimsical art installations. The volume of color and drama is turned up for the main event, the dining room, where a striking color palette of chocolate, vanilla and lipstick colors prevails.

Rose Bar
NEW YORK
-by Priscilla Monteiro

The bar, stocked with towering oak-leaf-shaped shelves as well as aged scotches and exotic liquors such as Cachaça and Pisco, was recently transformed to a utopian environment with an impressive, classical aura compliments of artist Julian Schnabel and owner Ian Schrager. The decor is derivative of 18th century France with walls dressed with 15 foot original Warhol and Basquiat paintings that I wish I had dressed on my walls at home. Nevertheless, on the rose- red- and-white tile floor decorated with tasseled, colored velvet chairs, expect to see the bar occupied with A-list celebs, fashionable editors catching up with acquaintances or fellow friends just looking to have a good time along with Wall Street tycoons. I happened to run into rapper 50 Cent on my last visit and there wasn't a groupie in sight.

The scene is full of swank, romance, billiards, woodburning fireplaces, and is at one of NYC's hottest spots. Did we mention that you MUST have a pre - approved reservation in order for your access to be granted?
Regarding the setting, bartenders serve muddlers and juicers as if performing for your royal highness concocting specialty drinks made of Whiskey, Jagermeister, and Crown Royal into a delicious romantic blend guaranteed to have you lusting for your lover. Oops, did I say that!
Rose Bar is located in The Gramercy Park Hotel, another boutique property put together by Ian Schrager. The perpetually busy, candle-lit bar requires reservations after 10PM, which can be made via e-mail at (rosebar@gramercyparkhotel.com
