THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO BE!

    Rose Bar
    NE
    W YORK

    -by Priscilla Monteiro

The bar, stocked with towering oak-leaf-shaped shelves as well as aged scotches and exotic liquors such as Cachaça and Pisco, was recently transformed to a utopian environment with an impressive, classical aura compliments of artist Julian Schnabel
and owner Ian Schrager.  The decor is derivative of 18th century France with  walls dressed with 15 foot original Warhol and Basquiat paintings that I wish I had dressed on my walls at home. Nevertheless, on the rose- red- and-white tile floor decorated with tasseled, colored velvet chairs, expect to see the bar occupied with A-list celebs, fashionable  editors catching up with acquaintances or fellow friends just looking to have a good time along with Wall Street tycoons. I happened to run into rapper 50 Cent on my last visit and there wasn't a groupie in sight.

The scene is full of swank, romance, billiards, woodburning fireplaces, and is at one of NYC's hottest spots. Did we mention that you MUST have a pre - approved reservation in order for your access to be granted?

Regarding the setting, bartenders serve muddlers and juicers as if performing for your royal highness concocting specialty drinks made of  Whiskey, Jagermeister, and Crown Royal into a delicious romantic blend guaranteed to have you lusting for your lover. Oops, did I say that!

Rose Bar is located in The Gramercy Park Hotel
, another boutique property put together by Ian Schrager. The perpetually busy, candle-lit bar requires reservations after 10PM, which can be made via e-mail at (rosebar@gramercyparkhotel.com).

    GOLD BAR

    NYC

    -by Kemol Taylor

Velvet ropes would never do to guard this alcove of unadulterated bling--instead, the glamour -thirsty who've trekked down to Little Italy are blockaded by gold chains. The "subtle" design philosophy continues inside, where chandeliers dangle from a barrel-vaulted ceiling and cast the all-gold bar area (and its throne-like chairs) in a gold-dust light. But the most highly prized part is also the most unusual--hundreds of gilded human skulls decorating the diminutive lounge in back. At $17 a pop, however, cocktails are almost as precious.

    Stoli Hotel

    NEW YORK CITY

    -by Priscilla Monteiro

Stoli Hotel New York is the flagship location for the traveling entertainment space that was unveiled in Los Angeles last year. Boasting a cutting-edge design and a selection of luxury amenities to rival the most fashionable hotels, the 25,000 square-foot entertainment space promises to be the most desirable venue in the city during its week and a half stay.

Stoli Hotel was inspired by the Hotel Moskva, the iconic hotel depicted on Stoli’s label. The legendary property, which enjoyed its heyday during the 1930’s and 1940’s, was known as a hotbed of intellectual and artistic activity that attracted Russian nobility and Hollywood elite alike.

Inspired by the lavish and baroque grandeur of the czars and the bold, geometric industrial structures of early 20th century Russia, The Stoli Hotel creates a striking, modern, elegant balance that is both a nod to the brand’s history as well as a reflection of contemporary architectural design.

The Stoli Hotel, which has also visited Chicago and Miami, will incorporate individual design elements and events that have been customized to reflect the personality of each host city.

New York’s Stoli Hotel will host a series of fashion and music events inspired by the city’s diverse cultural offerings.

Invited guests will be greeted by a concierge as they enter the hotel to visit the integrated spa or enjoy a cocktail at the hotel bar, which features bold, oversized structures reminiscent of the Hotel Moskva’s monumental design. A series of customized guest rooms inspired by Stoli’s flavor portfolio, will host a range of events. The elit Suite, which pays homage to Stoli’s ultra-luxury vodka, Stolichnaya elit®, will be open to VIPs only.

What happens when Caleb chews up the heel on your Gucci boot? Baaad DOG!

For those of you who frequent Manhattan AND buy high end shoe junkies, I think I finally found the PERFECT shoe repair place, if you don't mind dealing with the mid-town madness.

Angelo's, where Bergdorf Goodman's shoe department sends its customers, has elevated shoe repair to an art form. It will perfectly match any fabric even on an ostrich pump. Strap too short on your new bag? Angelo's will match that, too, and extend the length, add zippers to a stretch boot that's too tight, or taper the width of your knee-high boots. It will even dye leather evening shoes to an exact match with your dress. Best of all, unlike those fashionista favorites, you won't get treated like a peasant if your labels don't read Jimmy Choo or Sigerson Morrison. Calves can be stretched anywhere from $35–$75; heels can be made higher from $20–$35; the toe box can be lifted and widened for $12; and insteps can be reconfigured to fit your arch for only $12. If you come with a blueprint, you may be able to construct your own shoe.

    For more information contact: Angelo's
